Are you thinking about getting married in Autumn? Here’s a few ideas and inspiration on why we think you should!
We love Autumn weddings, particularly in November, because of the natural colours nature creates and the wonderful light the sun gives us as it makes the journey into winter time.
Imagine a wedding dress accessorised with faux fur or a feather stole cover up, with a bouquet and wedding flowers in oranges, greens and reds.
A tweed suit and trilby hat would look fabulous for grooms, gents, and the ladies, creating a mix of country casual meets hipster.
Feed your guests with a hog roast or wedding stew, use the seasons best vegetables, pumpkins and squashes. Drink cider made with British apples and mead created from local honey for your wedding toasts.
After the wedding ceremony you can watch some of the best sunsets with your new husband or wife in a magnificent romantic woodland setting.
If you’re planning a festival style wedding you could have a campfire to keep your guests warm and toast marshmallows. Or have your wedding reception in a grand country hotel with a ballroom and roaring log fire.
There’s also less daylight hours in Autumn than Spring or Summer, so more time to use fairy lights, candles and lanterns. This will add a cosy romantic ambience to your celebrations.
Autumn weddings can be cheaper as many venues reduce their rates, it’s just before Christmas, after summer and apart from Halloween and Bonfire Night there’s not much else going on.
What a wonderful time to get married!
