New growth and new beginnings, fresh flowers and lighter days… Are you thinking about getting married in Spring? Here’s a few ideas and inspiration on why we think you should!
Spring weddings are wonderful and after a long, dark Winter the anticipation of Spring is just so exciting!
Lots of yellow, green and pinks work fabulously for a Spring wedding, think about new fresh growth and buds on trees. Light, flowing materials for your wedding dress and pastels for bridesmaids, flower girls and guests. Greys, neutrals and blues would look fabulous for grooms, gents, and the ladies, complimenting the season’s natural colours.
Use the best flowers for bouquets and table decorations. Spring bulbs; Daffodils, Tulips, Lily of the Valley and Hyacinths work wonderfully in pots on tables, guests can take home and plant in their own garden as a momentum of your big day.
It can be sunny and bright in Spring, but there can still be a nip in the air, so serve your guests with a hearty hot traditional dinner. Champagne or Prosecco are both perfect for speeches and toasts. If you’re planning a festival style wedding you could have a campfire to keep your guests warm and toast marshmallows. Or have your wedding reception in a local village hall with a warm finger buffet.
There’s also a lot more daylight hours in Spring than Winter and the nights are drawing out. The daylight this time of year is perfect for your photos, make sure you speak to your photographer about finding the best light.
Spring weddings can also be cheaper as many venues reduce their rates before Summer. So if you’re sticking to a tight budget this could be a good option for you.
What a wonderful time to get married!
